The Heralders History
Founded in 1963, the Heralders have always embodied excellence in both music and ministry. Thousands have embraced the quality, sound, and popularity of the Heralders, and they have become a household name especially around Western Michigan. With roots in Southern Gospel, the Heralders made a name for themselves and quickly became a popular group in Christian music. Transcending genre boundaries and singing Southern upbeat style music in very conservative church circles, the Heralders Quartet quickly earned a devout following.

After more than 40 years of singing and sharing the word, only few faces have changed. The Heralders are Bill Sterk (bass and original member), Ken Dykstra (lead and original member), Chad Ruger (tenor) and Hank Vander Loon (baritone and original member). These talented vocalists comprise a team dedicated to sharing the life and love of Jesus. Excellence in both their music and their ministry has always been a hallmark of the Heralders and that tradition still continues with this timeless group.

The Heralders have sung in many packed churches and traveled in twenty-two states and Canada, including a sold out crowd of 5,000 at the Grand Rapids Civic Auditorium. On stage they have been joined in concert by such well-known groups as the Collingsworth Family, the Dixie Echoes and many more. They have created many audio and video recordings and have carried their message to many high schools, colleges, prisons, stadiums, fairs, churches, civic centers and any place where people have gathered to hear this special quartet blend their voices in song.

Mission Statement
To sing and share the gospel of Jesus Christ; to lead people into his presence; to call people in relationship with Him; to bring healing, strength and encouragement to the body of Christ; all the while living by faith and walking in wisdom, integrity, and faithfulness to his call.
