The Heralders History

Now in their 50th year of singing, only a few faces have changed. Heralders are: Bill Sterk (bass and original member) Ken Dykstra (former lead and original member sings the baritone part) Chad Ruger (tenor) Mark Lindsey (latest member to join the Heralders sings lead. These talented vocalists comprise a team dedicated to sharing the life and love of Jesus. Excellence in both their music and their ministry has always been a hallmark of the Heralders and that tradition still continues with this legendary group.

God has blessed this quartet with one of the finest blends in the gospel field today. Their love and dedication for singing God's praises is most contagious to their listeners, and this is shown by the enthusiastic response they receive in the many places they sing. The Heralders have sung in many packed churches and traveled in twenty-two states and Canada, including a sold out crowd of 5,000 at the old Grand Rapids Civic Auditorium. On stage they have been joined in concert by such well-known groups as the Collingsworth Family, the Cathedrals, Speer Family, Dixie Echoes and many more. They have created many audio and video recordings and have carried their message to many high schools, colleges, prisons, stadiums, fairs, churches, civic centers and any place where people have gathered to hear this special quartet blend their voices in song.

To sing and share the gospel of Jesus Christ; to lead people into his presence; to call people in relationship with Him; to bring healing, strength and encouragement to the body of Christ; all the while living by faith and walking in wisdom, integrity, and faithfulness to his call.
